Dining in Anaheim

One of the best parts of being on vacation is the food. Dining in Anaheim, CA offers you a wide variety of options. You can eat economically or extravagantly; Chinese or Italian; fast food or slow, elegant service. It's entirely up to you.

While spending time at Disneyland in Anaheim, a logical location for dining is Disney's Downtown District. Choose from Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (New Orleans style food), House of Blues Restaurant (Cajun-Creole), Naples Restaurante (Italian), Tortilla Jo's (Mexican) and Catal Restaurant (Mediterranean). If you have children, you should try one of the themed restaurants. For instance, ESPN Zone is geared towards your sports enthusiast. The Rainforest Cafe is great for the little ones with moving rainforest critters and a periodic rainstorm. Eating at the Rainforest Cafe is a bit like being on a ride at Disneyland.

For that extra special evening, Napa Rose at the Grand Californian Disneyland Resort is a must. The food, the service and the ambiance are all first class. Since this restaurant is in a Disneyland hotel, dress varies from casual to formal.

Providing a bit of nostalgia along with amazing pancakes and waffles is the Original Pancake House. This is an old-fashioned style diner. Some of the choices available are Dutch Baby and Apple Pancakes, Sour Dough Pancakes, Blueberry Pancakes and Strawberry Crepes. The Original Pancake House is all about the food.

If this is your first trip to Southern California, you must make a stop at In N Out Burger. This fast food burger joint sells hamburgers, cheeseburgers, French fries and drinks. Prices are great and the food is delicious. A warning though, once you eat a hamburger at In N Out, you will want to come back again and again.

Some of the best steak houses in California can be found in Anaheim. Choose from Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, McCormick and Schmick's or Morton's -- The Steakhouse. All three have great steaks, but the prices are on the high side.

Looking for Chinese cuisine? Try PF Chang's at The Shops at Anaheim's Garden Walk. Yamabuki at Disneyland's Paradise Pier Hotel is your best bet for Japanese cuisine. Your seafood cuisine choices include Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and McCormick and Schmick's.

With this many choices of dining options in Anaheim, CA, you better bring clothes with an elastic waistband!
